The goal for this series was to create animal themed onesies and t-shirt designs for a fictional kids apparel company. The animals chosen represent Minnesota wildlife and include a snowshoe hare, screech owl, and lynx cat. The use of Minnesota wildlife imagery relates to the fictional, Minnesota-based kids apparel company. Since the designs are intended for infant onesies and toddler t-shirts, I decided to focus on creating baby animal portraits. Each animal portrait is a stylized vector image that is bright, colorful and symmetrically balanced. The brand name Northern Lights was also chosen because it represents a unique phenomenon found in northern Minnesota skies. A series of pattern designs were also created for shirt and pants sets. Three separate patterns were created for each wildlife animal portrait. The patterns and animal portraits are unified in style, color, and subject matter.
